Depending on the type of business you have, there are several ways to set up an Estimate Form.

State Sales Tax = State Sales Tax % (6% or 0.06) x Sub Total

City Sales Tax = City Sales Tax % (1% or 0.01) x Sub-Total

Total Taxes = State Sales Tax + City Sales Tax

Total Amount Due = Sub Total + Total Sales Taxes

What if the types of jobs you perform are a little complex like having to calculate in square feet. Your labor and materials will come up short if it isn t calculated correctly.

For example, you are painting a room walls and ceiling, and both are the same color or different colors. Your Estimate Form will look much different than a basic Estimate Form.

To figure out the total square footage all the walls need to be listed then measured.

WITH X HIGHT = SQUARE FEET (SQFT)

If there is trim, you may need to mask it or paint it. Trim is measured in Lenier Feet. You have already taken the wall with measurements which means you already have the measurements for Crown Molding, Chair Rail and Base Board Molding. Add all of the Wall Width Measurements will equal Lenier Feet (LNFT)

All rooms have doors, and some rooms may have windows which means they have trim that either needs to be masked or painted. This is also measured in LNFT.

WIDTH + LENGTH = Lenier Feet (LNFT)
